University President Attends Signing of Cooperation Agreement Between the Faculty of Engineering at City University of Cairo and Leading Construction Company Arab Contractors

Prof.Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, President of CUC and former Minister of Antiquities, attended the signing of a cooperation agreement between the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Arab Contractors, one of the region’s largest construction companies. The agreement formalizes the inclusion of Arab Contractors as a key partner in a range of collaborative areas, most notably the practical training programs the Faculty offers its students. This partnership reflects the university’s commitment to building strong relationships with prominent civil society institutions and enhancing field training efforts to better prepare students for the workforce.The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Mostafa Gouda, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and on behalf of Arab Contractors by Sherif Hamdy, Director of the Technological Institute for Construction Engineering and Management.

Also present at the signing were Tarek Mansour, Deputy Director of the Technological Institute, and Mohamed Karam from Arab Contractors, along with Ahmed Nagi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Tarek Galal, Secretary-General of the University. President Mohamed Ibrahim Ali emphasized that this agreement aligns with the university’s vision of advancing field training and equipping students with the skills and experience needed in today’s job market. He stressed the importance of investing in students’ academic and practical abilities, as they are the cornerstone of the educational process.He praised the significant role Arab Contractors plays in workforce training and capacity building, adding that this partnership is a meaningful contribution to national efforts to improve the quality of education and strengthen the performance of higher education institutions.He also highlighted the importance of proactive planning for training programs as a key factor in achieving their intended goals. He called for swift implementation of training plans and the integration of high-quality programs that raise students’ practical competencies.For his part, Sherif Hamdy expressed his deep appreciation for the Faculty of Engineering’s efforts to modernize the educational system. He noted that this partnership reflects Arab Contractors’ belief in the importance of collaboration between state institutions and academia to support sustainable development in the education sector.He added that the agreement offers a real opportunity to support students by providing them with the skills and hands-on experience needed to stay current with industry and academic developments. Beyond training, the agreement also covers experience exchange and recruitment opportunities, all of which contribute to improving student services and raising the overall quality of education.
