International Collaboration plans

The founding members of the City University of Cairo (CUC) have explored avenues for collaboration with numerous academic universities in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. This collaboration took place in two historical stages:

First Stage:
This stage preceded the presidential recommendation for twinning with advanced foreign universities in the global university rankings. During this stage, letters of intent were exchanged with some European universities since 2007, signaling the start of cooperation and serious work with our university in Egypt. These letters of intent aimed to activate the role of scientific and research partnerships once the project's infrastructure in Egypt was completed. The universities included in this stage are:

Second Stage:

This stage followed the presidential recommendation for twinning. During this stage, the university intensified its communication with various foreign universities with advanced global rankings. The City University's strategy aimed to implement the presidential recommendation in parallel axes:

Addressing foreign universities with advanced global rankings according to their respective specialties. All these universities are ranked among the top 50 in the world in their respective fields. The universities contacted in various disciplines are:

Art and Design: Ten universities in Argentina, Canada, China, Finland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Switzerland.
Dentistry: Seven universities in Argentina, Brazil, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands.

Addressing foreign universities with advanced global rankings that cover all disciplines offered by the City University of Cairo. The university communicated with two universities: one in Brazil, ranked 491, and the other in Argentina, ranked 73 globally according to the QS ranking.

Twinning with World High Ranked Universities:

In line with the directives of the President of the Republic to establish twinning agreements with some globally ranked universities, aiming to enhance the quality of education in Egypt and keep pace with the global advancements, and in alignment with the vision of the City University of Cairo, which strives for excellence through its commitment to the highest intellectual standards in education, learning, and innovation, and its dedication to implementing international quality standards in the educational services provided, as well as developing and regularly updating study programs according to the needs of the job market, the founding members of the City University of Cairo have been exploring avenues for collaboration with some globally ranked universities, including those among the top 50 universities according to the QS World University Rankings or the Times World University Rankings.

The university's strategy in this regard involves signing agreements to establish joint or dual degree programs in various scientific and literary disciplines available at CUC. These agreements will allow students to study both at CUC and one of the advanced globally ranked universities. Under these agreements, the student will receive a single graduation certificate bearing the seal of both universities if they enroll in one of the joint degree programs, or they will receive two certificates from CUC and the foreign university if they enroll in one of the dual degree programs.

To facilitate this, CUC has formed a team of professors and distinguished Egyptian scientists from various scientific disciplines who have a high international reputation in the academic field. The team aims to establish communication with those universities as a prelude to reaching memoranda of understanding that align with the vision of the President of the Republic and establish academic programs that fulfill the vision of CUC.
