CUC Concludes Student Activities with Football Cup Final and Awards Ceremony
City University of Cairo wrapped up the 2024–2025 student activities season with a vibrant closing ceremony, highlighted by the final match of the university’s inaugural Football Cup and the recognition of outstanding student achievements across various fields.
The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Marwan, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, and led by Professor Mohamed Ibrahim, President of the University. The ceremony was attended by vice deans, the Secretary-General, faculty members, and a large gathering of students from across the university’s faculties.
Opening the event, Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim celebrated the university’s sporting successes, beginning with a tribute to Abdullah Ibrahim, a student from the Faculty of Engineering, who earned sixth place in the national Mr. Egypt bodybuilding championship. In recognition of this and other achievements, he was awarded a medal and certificate of distinction by the University President.
Also honored was Anwar Ali Khalifa, another engineering student, for his exceptional participation in the Arab Youth Summit, held as part of Arab Sustainable Development Week. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation for representing the university at a high level.
The spotlight then turned to the final round of CUC Football Cup, culminating in a series of individual and team awards:
Top Scorer: Kareem Fikry – Faculty of Engineering
Best Goalkeeper: Adam Samah – Faculty of Engineering
Best Players: Adam Emad – Faculty of Engineering
& Omar Wael – Faculty of Fine Arts
Following the individual honors, the top three teams of the tournament were announced:
🥇 1st Place: Faculty of Engineering – Gold Medal
🥈 2nd Place: Faculty of Fine Arts – Silver Medal
🥉 3rd Place: Faculty of Physical Therapy – Bronze Medal
The event concluded with the Faculty of Engineering being crowned champions of the first Al-Madina University Football Cup. The winning team proudly accepted the trophy from the University President as students and staff celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and campus pride.
