CUC Applauds Faculty Achievements, Approves Summer Sessions and New Appointments

CUC held its monthly council meeting on Sunday, May 4, 2025, led by University President Professor  Mohamed Ibrahim Ali. The meeting brought together Dr. Tarek Marwan, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, the university’s vice presidents, college deans, and the Secretary-General to discuss key developments in academics, student services, and international partnerships.

Kicking off the session, Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim highlighted recent accomplishments across the university. One key achievement was progress on expanding the Faculty of Physical Therapy’s outpatient clinics—an important step in strengthening the university’s role in community healthcare. He also followed up on the licensing process for the clinics, ensuring all legal requirements are being met.

The Council took a moment to commend the efforts of the university’s colleges over the current academic year, praising their continued commitment to excellence in education, research, and service.

Discussions also covered future collaboration with the Chinese university delegation that recently visited the campus. Deans shared proposals for partnerships in fields such as physical therapy, engineering, business, design, and media. The aim is to foster cooperation in teaching, research, and community development, tailored to each faculty’s strengths.

Looking ahead to the next academic year, the Council reviewed staffing reports from the deans and approved new hires to strengthen faculty teams across colleges—part of the university’s ongoing efforts to support high-quality education.

Finally, the Council gave the green light to open summer sessions based on the specific needs of each college. The summer term will run from June 29 through August 21, 2025.
