CUC Hosts Third Seminar of the 2024–2025 Cultural Salon

The university hosted the third seminar of the 2024–2025 Cultural Salon, under the patronage of Professor Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, President of the University. The seminar featured a distinguished lecture by Sheikh Ahmed Turki, Director General of Training at the Ministry of Religious Endowments.
In his opening remarks, the University President welcomed the guest speaker and attendees, and extended warm congratulations to vice presidents, deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. He commended the choice of topic, highlighting the importance of positive role models for youth today, affirming that no better example exists than the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whose life and character remain a timeless guide.
Sheikh Ahmed Turki spoke on the critical need for upright moral values, which he described as a cornerstone of civilization. He emphasized that Muslims across the world must look to the Prophet (PBUH) as a model to confront the challenges of cultural erosion and the loss of identity. His lecture also explored the Prophet’s deep relationship with the Qur’an during Ramadan, reflecting on how the Prophet embodied the teachings of the Qur’an, describing him as "a Qur’an walking among people."
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, during which Sheikh Turki responded to student inquiries on various religious, intellectual, and cultural topics. Prof. Mostafa Gouda, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, offered closing reflections that opened a brief discussion on the scientific references in the Qur’an.
The event began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Fathy Abdel Aziz, a first-year engineering student. Prof. Hassan Ali, Supervisor of the Cultural Salon, then gave a brief introductory speech.
The seminar was attended by several university leaders, including Prof. Mostafa Gouda (Dean of Engineering), Prof. Mohamed Sabry (Dean of Art and Design), Prof. Amir Saleh (Dean of Physical Therapy), Prof. Hassan Ali (Dean of Mass Communication), and Dr. Tarek Galal (University Secretary General), along with a number of faculty members, administrators, and a large audience of students.
At the end of the seminar, the University President gifted Sheikh Ahmed Turki with the Cultural Salon Shield in appreciation of his contributions to the university and his role in promoting religious awareness and cultural dialogue.
