Registration:

The academic year consists of three academic semesters:

The main fall semester: It starts in the third week of September and lasts for 15 weeks of instruction, followed by 3 weeks of exams. Course registration takes place within three weeks before the start of the semester.
The main spring semester: It starts in February and lasts for 15 weeks, followed by 3 weeks of exams. Course registration takes place within one week before the start of the semester.
The summer semester: It starts in late June or early July and lasts for 7 weeks, followed by one week of exams. Course registration takes place within one week before the start of the semester.
Course registration is not activated until approval from the academic advisor and program coordinator is obtained.

A student can register for courses in the main academic semesters according to the following rules (after approval from the academic advisor):

Requirements for Course Registration

A student can register for courses in the main academic semesters according to the following rules (after approval from the academic advisor):

Up to 21 credit hours for students with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
Up to 18 credit hours for students with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 2.0 but less than 3.0. This number is registered in the first semester after the student's enrollment.
Up to 14 credit hours for students with a cumulative GPA less than 2.0.
A student can register for courses in the summer semester according to the following rules (after approval from the academic advisor):
Up to 9 credit hours for students with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
Up to 8 credit hours for students with a cumulative GPA less than 3.0.
In the first academic semester, course registration is open for all students. The aforementioned rules are applied starting from the second academic semester.
A student can register for an additional course beyond the mentioned limits if it will lead to graduation, subject to approval from the academic advisor.
Students pursuing non-degree programs can register for courses according to the maximum credit hour limits. The student will receive a statement of the courses studied and the grades obtained.
Students pursuing academic degrees and non-degree students can register as auditors in some courses. Auditors are not allowed to take the final exam for the course.
The faculty has the authority to determine the courses offered each semester and the methods of student registration, except for courses specified as prerequisites for other courses or necessary for graduation, which must be made available for registration every semester.
Course Additions and Deletions

A student can add a course during the first week of the main academic semesters or within the first three days of the summer semester.
A student can drop registered courses until the end of the second week of the main academic semesters or the end of the first week of the summer semester.
Course additions or deletions should not violate the minimum or maximum credit hour limits for each semester.

Course Withdrawal:

A student can withdraw from any registered course within the first ten weeks of the main academic semesters or the first five weeks of the summer semester.
The student does not receive a grade for the withdrawn course, provided that the withdrawal request is completed and approved within the designated time frame.
The student receives a (W) grade for the withdrawn course, and they are allowed to retake the course (attend all classes and complete all activities, including exams) in subsequent academic semesters.
For elective courses, students are allowed to change them in subsequent academic semesters if they fail to pass or withdraw from them. This is subject to approval from the academic advisor and program requirements.
