Prof. Mohamed Sabry
Prof. Mohamed Sabry graduated from the Department of Spinning and Weaving at the College of Applied Arts, Helwan University, with an excellent grade and honors in 1978. He was appointed as a teaching assistant in the department in February 1979 and obtained his Master's degree in 1982. He then earned his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom in 1988.In 2001, he obtained the rank of professor and participated in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the faculties of Al-Azhar University, Ain Shams University, the Teachers' College in Mecca, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University. He has authored several publications in the field of textiles in Arabic, such as "Textile Materials," "Textile Testing," and "Textiles in the Home," as well as publications in English, such as "Smart Textiles" and "Technical Textiles." He has participated in scientific research at numerous local and international conferences in Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong. He received the Outstanding Speaker Award from the Fourth JSPS Afro-Asian Program for Modern Fibers at Yeungnam University in South Korea in March 2009
He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University from 2008 to 2011. He also served as the Secretary of the Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Professors and Assistant Professors in the Applied Arts Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities. Additionally, he participated in several specialized sector committees and was involved in evaluating regulations and material and human resources in numerous arts colleges. He began working as the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at CUC in October 2023.
