Prof. Medhat Mohamed Abdel-Aal
Dean of the faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at City university of Cairo.He has been a Professor of Statistics and Sports, Department of Statistics and Sports, Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University. Head of the Department of Statistics, Sports, and Insurance, Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University from 2012 to 2016. Also he is a member of the Permanent Committee for the Promotion of Assistant Professors and Professors, the fourteenth session. Finally, he is a member of the Accreditation and Quality Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities.
Educational Qualifications:
He has obtained Ph.D. in Applied Statistics in the field of Fishery Resources, 1999, "Management of Lake Manzala Fishery using Statistical and Mathematical Models," School of Sports and Statistics, University of Plymouth, United Kingdom. Master's degree in Computer Science and Information Systems, 1997, "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Database Systems," School of Computer Science and Information Systems, University of Plymouth, United Kingdom. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Systems, 1996, School of Computer Science and Information Systems, University of Plymouth, United Kingdom. Master's degree in Applied Statistics, 1988, Department of Statistics and Sports, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. Bachelor's degree in Commerce, 1978, with a very good overall grade and the third rank of honor, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt.
Some scientific and practical activities:
Preparation of a doctoral thesis from 1994 to 1999 titled "Management of Lake Manzala Fisheries Using Statistical Methods in Education and Practice."
Preparation of a project on "Fisheries Information Systems" for the General Authority for Fish Wealth Development in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This project involved developing information systems for fish wealth in Egypt to be used in the management of fisheries (2000).
Preparation of a project on the "Development of Lake Manzala" and the development of information systems for Lake Manzala to be used in the management of fisheries (2000).
Preparation of a project on the "Social Solidarity Fund for Fishermen and their Families in Lake Manzala." This project included all fishermen working in Lake Manzala and their families. The annual subscription fee for each participating fisherman in this fund was estimated in exchange for providing comprehensive healthcare for fishermen and their families, as well as compensation in case of partial or total disability, death, loss, or damage to fishing tools (2001).
Preparation of a project on the "Development of Bardawil Lake," which involved developing information systems for Bardawil Lake, designing data collection systems, establishing a database, and training the lake management staff (2002).

Preparation of a feasibility study for the Owan Club for faculty members and their families, as well as employees at Ain Shams University. This project included a census of all faculty members and their families (children and grandchildren), as well as eligible employees to participate in the club. The study estimated all club expenses, such as meals, beverages, sports equipment, lighting, water, periodic maintenance of fixed assets, consumption rates, etc. The annual subscription fee for each participating member or eligible person was estimated based on the expected club revenues, such as annual subscriptions, parking garage revenues, revenues from unauthorized individuals, subscriptions for children and youth in sports activities, revenues from club events for members, and other services. This study was presented to the University Council members (deans and vice deans of all colleges) and received approval from all members of the University Council (2015).
